Originally home was near Coventry, in the Midlands, however in June 2020 I relocated to the Essex coast, with no regrets. I am mostly a self taught artist, although I did attend tuition for a short period with Stan Kaminski RBSA in 2019, who is renowned for his portfolio of wildlife and Venice paintings.
My art has evolved over the last few years and I am working towards a professional art qualification. I work part time as an artist, which works well with my role as a health and wellbeing specialist nurse.
My preference in medium is acrylic and gouache, which are predominantly my standard go to for commissions.
I am also partial to using pastels and find these work well with dog portraits, which are regular commissions. I carry out demonstrations for art societies and clubs local to my home, alongside workshops.
An artist driven by a sense of wellbeing and contentment from using art as a therapy. I enjoy creating works that engage the mind and encourage self relaxation. Inspiration is found from everyday surroundings, including visual colour changes (such as that seen in the sea and skies) and emotions. My motivation is self preservation, good mental health, relaxation and calmness, alongside enjoyment.
Workshops carried out frequently at Artisan Alley in St Oysth, Clacton Art Gallery and Holland Art Society. Tuition also available at my studio in Clacton on Sea. Please complete the contact slip for more information. I also demonstrate at local art groups. Please contact me for more information.
